Client: Creative Planet
Project: Filesystem Refactoring
Creative Planet, a growing production studio, reached out to us for help managing their fast-growing volume of data and frames. Due to filesystem architecture limitations, data indexing had begun to fail, making asset searches unreliable and rendering some data inaccessible.
We recommended that they shift to a cache-tiered architecture to bring their current project assets into high-performance caching, while promoting better handling of slower bulk storage. We pointed out commercial as well as open-source solutions, giving them options to balance their financial resources with their own time and expertise.
This strategy empowered Creative Planet to restore access to their entire asset library, and provided the tools to expand for the future.

“As a fulldome production studio specializing in top-quality cinematic CGI, we needed a solution that is strong, reliable, and based on industry standards – but also not too expensive or too complicated to use.
We asked Dan for help when we started having more and more problems with our renderfarm. Dan was very kind and professional. He understood our problems quickly and shared his huge knowledge in a way that fit our needs perfectly.
Thanks to his help and consultations, we were able to keep all our hardware and improve the performance of the renderfarm.
We totally recommend this ninja – his skills saved our frames!”
